The Seychelles Delegation who has travelled to La Reunion Island for the ‘Festival Liberte Metisse’ met with their Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture for a final briefing on the Seychelles performances at the La Reunion Festival Liberte Metisse.
“We are a proud creole people with little to no complexes at all because of our rich history. The abolition of slavery that we are here to celebrate is also part of our historical past. We feel part and parcel of that day being celebrated by La Reunion. We take this opportunity to congratulate La Reunion for b=making this event a Vanilla islands Event as the Carnaval International de Victoria is for Seychelles. We al salute President Didier Robert for his commitment for regional cooperation” Minister Alain St.Ange said to the La Reunion Press after the meeting with the Seychellois Delegation.
The Seychelles Minister reminded his delegation that everyone was here to fly the Seychelles flag high and in so doing keep the name Seychelles visible and Seychelles as a tourism destination relevant.
“Because our work at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture is today respected and appreciated your costs for travelling here as a delegation has been born mostly by sponsorship by the private sector. Let us bear this in mind as we work to do Seychelles proud here in la Reunion so that news getting back home will continue to open doors for us for future such moves” Minister St.Ange said.
The opening act at the Official Opening Ceremony at the La Reunion Festival Liberte Metise will see the Seychellois Delegation take to the stage.
Minister Alain St.Ange as President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands will also address the Official Opening Ceremony after President Didier Robert of La Reunion addresses his public.
