Good buys, tasting interesting dishes and drinks are the elements of an enjoyable holiday which, for many people, starts at the airport.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport, together with its partners, offers its passengers nearly 130 shops, cafйs, bars and restaurants located in the passenger terminal. Here they know how to create a comfortable atmosphere for a pleasant pastime.

Luring aroma of one of the world’s most famous drinks, cozy surroundings and special atmosphere contribute to the rising popularity of coffee shops among the airport passengers: just during the last six months, more than 120,500 liters of coffee were drunk here. It is worth noting that at Moscow Domodedovo Airport there are ten coffee shops of different brands where visitors can enjoy a variety of sorts and recipes of this amazing ‘eye opener’.

For many people, the best coffee ‘dessert’ is a fresh newspaper or a book: Moscow Domodedovo Airport partners took these preferences of the air hub passengers into account. Six different shops selling printed matter, which are located in the main areas of the airport, on the eve of their professional holiday, made their own rating list including the most popular products during the last six months.

It turned out that travelers prefer works of modern authors: among bestseller books there are books by Boris Akunin and Dan Brown. Only flowers – one of the most popular trade items at the airport – can make the long-awaited meeting truly beautiful and fill it with romance. According to specialists’ estimation, from January to June 2014, at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, there have been sold more than 3,500 bouquets and about 7,000 flowers not arranged as floral compositions. No doubt, the most frequent visitors of the floral shop located in the Domestic Airlines Arrivals Area of Moscow Domodedovo Airport are men.

Duty free shops are leaders in terms of sales volumes in the territory of the air hub. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has 19 Duty Free points where every day thousands of passengers start their journeys with buying something: more than 52,000 items are purchased here daily. And, for example, every fifth purchase is confectionaries, and every tenth – perfumes or cosmetics. Moscow Domodedovo Airport also offers its travelers online shopping: one of the new partners of the air hub offers a chance to place orders in the Duty Free shops online. Since early 2014, this service was used by 30,000 people who received a nice bonus – a 10% discount.

Developing trading platforms in the territory of the airport complex of the country’s largest air hub is one of the main areas of broadening the range of services allowing to create the most comfortable conditions for travelling.
