He was with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for 5 years, out of his 13 years of work experience in the hospitality industry. hailing from Thailand, Kanit brings with him new ideas and initiatives that will bring positive changes to Sheraton Sandakan.

Kanit is a seasoned hotelier and has gained most of his hospitality experience in Bangkok. Having risen from the ranks of Reservation Sales Agent at JW Marriott Bangkok to Director of Revenue Management at Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa, Kanit moved to Malaysia in 2008 to join the Starwood Hotels & Resorts family as Director of Revenue Management at The Westin Kuala Lumpur. There, he proved his determination in his role when the hotel emerged at top spot in market share ranking, the first time since its opening in 2003. Kanit was later promoted to Regional Director of Revenue Management for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in South East Asia, prior to attaining his present position.

Apart from a Bachelors of Business Administration, majoring in Hotel Management with a minor in Advertising Management from Assumption University in Thailand, Kanit is also a Masters graduate in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Australia.

Kanit’s brilliant career is also enhanced by his teaching experience at the Assumption University, where he lectured in the Hotel Sales & Marketing faculty. He has also been well trained through various Starwood Training and Development Programs.

In his current role, Kanit looks forward to introducing change through innovative ideas over his 13 years of tenure in the hospitality industry. Kanit aims to build the Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan to become the leading hotel in Sabah, in hopes that this creative ideas will further establish Sandakan as the getaway to eco-tourism.

When not in his serious business suit, Kanit spends his leisure time exploring different places and capturing various moments, all through the eyes of his camera lens. He also has a great passion for music. He not only enjoys listening to it but also plays instruments such as the guitar, ukulele and piano.

Situated on Sandakan’s prominent waterfront overlooking the Sulu Sea, Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan offers a comfortable, relaxed stay for value-oriented business and leisure travellers. Part of the award-winning integrated commercial development – Sandakan Harbour Square, a joint venture between ICSD Ventures Sdn Bhd and the Sandakan Municipal Council, the hotel is located amidst the city’s new Central Business District and with many points of interest close to its doorstep, including the Central Market and Harbour Mall Sandakan shopping centre.

Sandakan is fast gaining popularity as an eco-tourism venue in South East Asia being the second largest city in Sabah.
