The racing on June 21 will be highlighted with the awaited return of the historic Supermodified Twin 35’s.

Since the Speedway’s inception in 1951, Twin events have been common place at the ‘Steel Palace’.

Starting in 1970 with Twin 50-lappers, both won by Jim Shampine, the Speedway ran some form of Twin main events (some because of race cancellations the previous week) each year following with the exception of 1999, 2006-2007, and 2012.

Over those years the Twin 35 format became the distance of choice from 1976-1998. During those years five different drivers picked up their first career Supermodified main event wins including Brian Herb, Mike McLaughlin, Dean Hoag, Howard Page, and Greg Furlong.

Since then another five drivers have also earned first career wins in Twin races of different formats with the likes of Otto Sitterly, Jeff Holbrook, Gary Morton, Jerry Curran, and Pat Lavery all reaching victory lane.

One change to the Twin 35 format this season will be the introduction of half-points being awarded to the entire feature field in each main event. Each Twin 35 winner will receive a total of 50 points for his or her victory, instead of the usual 100.

The 2014 edition of the Supermodified Twin 35’s will be joined by a 30-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS main.

As always, July will be a blockbuster month of action at the Speedway.

Grand Prix Night at the Speedway returns on 4th of July Weekend with extra distance ‘Road to the Championship’ events for Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS in conjunction with the return of the popular ‘Christmas in July’ event from 2013. Another amazing fireworks display will cap off the evening on July 5.

The King of Wings has become one of the more popular open-wheel, asphalt racing events on the racing calendar, and it will return for its sixth installment on July 12 along with the annual Oswego Speedway Old Timer’s Reunion. The event will mark the third round of the ‘Steel Palace’ ISMA SuperSeries at the Speedway and will again take to the card with an extra distance ‘Road to the Championship’ main event for the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series.

With the move of Race of Champions Weekend back to the month of September, the Mid-Summer Championship will make its return to the Speedway on Saturday, July 19. A 50-lap Novelis Supermodified feature and a 30-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS main will crown Mid-Summer champions at the Speedway one week before the Speedway’s annual off-weekend during Oswego’s Harborfest.

The month of August features three pivotal events along the ‘Road to the Championship’ for both the Supermodified and SBS divisions, including the lucrative $10,000 to win Mr. Novelis Supermodified and $1,500 to win Mr. Pathfinder Bank SBS title events on August 2.

Several championship points will be gained or lost on August 2,August 9, and August 16 as the championship road will again finish with the Fall Championship, this year run in unison with Race of Champions Weekend September 11-13.

Oswego Speedway’s track championships will now join Race of Champions Weekend, making for an even larger three nights of action following Budweiser International Classic weekend two weeks prior.

Budweiser International Classic Weekend will look much the same next season as it did in 2013. Classic Week events will kick-off on August 27 and run straight through August 31 with the running of the 58th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds.

The Race of Champions Asphalt Modifieds will return to ‘FastFriday’ night action and will be joined by Novelis Supermodified ‘Fast 14’ time trials along with time trials and heat races for the Bud Light SBS Classic.

Bud Light ‘Super Saturday’ Classic Weekend events will feature the final round of the ‘Steel Palace’ ISMA SuperSeries with the annual running of the Bud Light ISMA SuperNationals 60 along with the Bud Light SBS Classic 75 and the Bud Light TQ Midget Classic.

Other special events on the 2014 Oswego Speedway racing calendar include Spring Spruce Up Day on April 19 along with the yearly open test session on April 26.

Driver autograph sessions are slated for June 14 and August 9.

The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience will return to the Speedway a total of ten times during the weekends of May 17,July 26, August 23, and September 6.
