An Indonesia-bound Hong Kong Airlines plane carrying 261 passengers on board returned to the airport following detection of cracked windshield. The pilot decided to turn back to Lap Kok airport after finding out a crack on the windshield.
“The pilot discovered a crack in the cockpit’s windshield about 1-1/2 hours after take-off,” the airline said. “For safety reasons, the pilot decided to fly back to Hong Kong airport.”
The pilot decided to make the U-turn after entering Manila’s airspace.
No injuries were reported. The passengers flew out on another plane about 1-1/2 hours later, Hong Kong Airlines said.
