Port of Seattle Statement on Sunday’s Victoria Clipper Incident

Port-of-Seattle-300x140The Port of Seattle Police arrested Samuel McDonough, a 33 year old male yesterday for Burglary, Malicious Mischief and Reckless Endangerment after the suspect stole a Victoria Clipper vessel Sunday morning. He has been booked into King County Jail. Port of Seattle Police worked with US Coast Guard and the City of Seattle Police throughout Sunday morning to secure the vessel and arrest the suspect. The vessel was returned to its moorings several hours later. The investigation is ongoing.

The Port of Seattle Police Department’s Harbor-1 vessel maintained watch on the Victoria Clipper while it was tied to the Foss tug. Harbor -1 was utilized for on-scene intelligence, provided the boarding platform for Seattle Police Department’s SWAT to board the Clipper, and also shuttled personnel from Pier 69 to and from the Clipper during the incident.
