Minister of State for the Diaspora Joe McHugh attended a networking event in Glasgow, during a recent trade visit to Scotland. Tourism, trade and investment links between Glasgow and Donegal were discussed at the event.
Minister McHugh was also briefed on Tourism Ireland’s promotional programme, which is in full swing right now, to boost tourism from the Scotland to the island of Ireland during the off-season months and into 2017.
Amy Riddell, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Scotland, said: “We were delighted to welcome Minister McHugh to Glasgow, to help us deliver the message about the many great reasons to visit Donegal and the island of Ireland. Tourism Ireland has a busy promotional programme under way right now – aimed at boosting late-season travel to Donegal and the island of Ireland from Scotland and to position us well for 2017.”
