qatarQatar Executive, Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, has been recognised with an award for its ‘Outstanding Growth’ since its foundation at the annual Gulf Aviation Networking Event (GANE 2015) held at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai.

The annual ‘Aviation Achievement Award’ recognises players from commercial and business aviation as well as airports and aviation solution partners for their exceptional contributions to the region’s aviation industry.

The award was presented to Qatar Executive against the backdrop of the division’s major expansion across its entire service portfolio and operations, including the ground-breaking order for 30 Gulfstream aircraft in May 2015.

The first Gulfstream G650ER will join Qatar Executive’s fleet in the last quarter of this year and strengthen the company’s position as one of the premier private jet operators in the region and worldwide.

The order will triple Qatar Executive’s fleet and establish Qatar Airways’ business jet division as the largest Gulfstream operator in the Middle East.

Executive Vice President of Qatar Executive David Edwards, who also participated at a panel discussion on business aviation at the event, received the award on behalf of Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker during a ceremony attended by leading figures from across the regional travel and aviation industry.

Al Baker said: “Being recognised for Qatar Executive’s ‘Outstanding Growth’ is a significant achievement and proud moment for the national airline’s corporate jet division.”

He added: “Winning this award is a great honour and testament to the hard work which has been put into our corporate jet division, and we are looking forward to introducing our new Gulfstream G650ER into service as well as continuous service level enhancements for our most discerning customers.”

The award took into account Qatar Executive’s growth and other major accomplishments achieved during its history.

Qatar Executive’s aircraft management service, for example, recently received a significant boost as the operator added three privately owned jets to its growing fleet.

In addition, Qatar Executive also received a 40-seat A319 All-Premium aircraft in February 2015, which is available for worldwide charter for larger groups. The aircraft has been designed to meet the elite requirements of corporate travel, VIP delegations and sports teams.

Geographically, Qatar Executive continued its expansion by reinforcing its strategy to tap into global growth markets. After gradually developing the market for more than a year within Greater China and South-East Asia, Qatar Executive now has a well-established presence in the region enabling customers to charter its Bombardier Global 5000 which is stationed in Hong Kong and Macao.

Last but not least, the construction works at Qatar Executive’s new Fixed Based Operation facility in Doha are advancing. The full service private aviation hub is set to be completed by the end of 2015 and promises to create a memorable travel experience for Qatar Executive’s guests as well as operators through its elegant design, exclusive offer of services and genuine hospitality.

Qatar Executive currently operates a long-range fleet of eight modern Bombardier aircraft including three Challenger 605s, four Global 5000s and a Global XRS with a two cabin configuration and a capacity for up to 13 passengers.
