Queensland Premier Officially Relaunches Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort

Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland and Minister for the Arts, today officially reopened the iconic Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort following an extensive AUD$43 million refurbishment at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the resort’s owners, dignitaries and special guests.

 
Among the VIP guests were the resort owners Mr Changqun Ji and Mr Yi Yu of Fullshare Industrial Holding Group, Curtis Pitt MP, Consul-General Dr. Zhao Yongchen and Mayor of Port Douglas Julia Lieu, reinforcing the importance of the resort relaunch to tourism in Queensland and Australia.

 
The ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off a weekend of celebrations at the resort, with the official re-launch event taking place on Saturday 27 August. 300 people will gather at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort to revel in its rich history and celebrate the grand unveiling of its new, refined look. Guests at the event will enjoy an evening of special performances and entertainment and indulge in the best fresh, local produce Port Douglas has to offer.

 
The extensive revitalisation has transformed all of the resort’s 294 guest rooms and public spaces with a modern and stylish design, inspired by Tropical North Queensland.
