Record breaking numbers of International Press flying to Seychelles to cover the 2014 Carnaval International de Victoria

South-Africa-SeychellesThe 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria in Seychelles, that is this year being jointly co-hosted by Seychelles, La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and South Africa KwaZulu Natal, has registered a record breaking number of International Press converging to the Islands to capture the strong moments of the event set to be held from the 25 to 27 April.

For the first time ever, 151 international journalists from nearly 84 media houses, from France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and Ireland, Russia, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Czech Republic, the Americas, the Middle East, India, South Africa & Africa, Australia, Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and the Indian Ocean Islands of La Reunion and Mauritius will all be in Seychelles to bring to the world the fourth edition of Carnaval International de Victoria.

It is now just over a week to the grand opening of the Carnival on the 25th April and the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture had to close down the list of International Press delegations as demands to the cover this sumptuous event keeps increasing daily.

The spotlight of the huge bank of International Press representing different audio visual mediums and publications are CCN International, French TV, BBC, Italy TV, CCTV, SABC, DSTV, MBC of the Middle East, Dubai Eye, Korean TV, Antenne Reunion, Zone Austral, MBC of Mauritius and more will all be giving exclusive coverage to the event.

Whereas, RFI Radio France International announced that it will go live on Sunday 27th for the Kiddies’ Carnival in Freedom Square.

 

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture said:- “Through this carnival Seychelles and the Region will be more than ever visible globally.

 

We need to put our best foot forward and showcase the richness of our culture and the warmth of our people.

 

We will ensure that every participating delegation and our co-hosts of La Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and South Africa KwaZulu Natal all receive due coverage as serious tourism destinations that have rallied together to showcase their culture and who are proudly putting their people at the centre of their tourism promotion”.
