131203RCHCatey2Red Carnation Hotels’ award-winning year continued this weekend, with a trio of awards at the prestigious 2013 Hotel Cateys on Friday night. The Montague on the Gardens took home two of these: Hotel Restaurant Team of the Year and Food and Beverage Manager of the Year, awarded to Peter Bradley. The third went to The Chesterfield Mayfair team, who won the Revenue Award, collected by Revenue Manager Carike Seager.

The glittering awards ceremony was held on Friday 29th November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, with plenty of laughs provided by comedian Milton Jones. Attended by all the biggest names in the industry, the Cateys, celebrating their 30th year, are considered the Oscars of the hotel industry.

Since its inception in 1984, the Cateys have cast a spotlight on the industry’s high flyers, strongest performers and leading hotel brands. Recipients of the prestigious awards are nominated, selected and rewarded by industry peers.

The Montague on the Gardens in Bloomsbury has been consistently in the top five hotels for London on TripAdvisor this year, with guests frequently praising the quality of the hotel’s Blue Door Bistro and its culinary offerings. The Blue Door Bistro provides fine dining in the heart of Bloomsbury, serving up food that has been commended with an AA rosette, from warm rabbit salad with marinated pear, courgette and celeriac, to fillet of beef with wild mushroom and Jerusalem artichoke fricassee. In winter, the hotel’s outdoor terrace is magically transformed into a pop-up Ski Lodge where the F&B team serve cheese and chocolate fondue, tasting platters, festively flavoured vodkas and cream liqueurs, further highlighting the innovation of the Montague’s Food & Beverage team, under Peter’s guidance.

Peter Bradley, Food and Beverage Manager at The Montague on the Gardens, says:
“I’m delighted that the Montague won two awards at this year’s Hotel Cateys: Food and Beverage Manager of the Year and Restaurant Team of the Year. At The Montague, fantastic food and drink is central to the luxury service we provide. The team work extremely hard to produce outstanding menus, from modern British cuisine in The Blue Door Bistro to the unique Ski Lodge menu, and the tailor made menus we put together for the many weddings and functions we host. It is a privilege for this hard work to be recognised, and to claim two awards as prestigious as these.”

The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel offers four-star luxury in the heart of exclusive Mayfair. Offering old-fashioned values of service with the comforts of 21st century technology, the hotel consistently holds a place within the top ten hotels for London on Trip Advisor.

Jonathan Raggett, Managing Director of Red Carnation Hotel Collection says:
“We are delighted and very proud to have scored a hat-trick at the 2013 Hotel Cateys. To be assessed by a team of industry peers who know our business inside out and to take home not one but three of the coveted Catey awards is a great achievement, and credit must be given to our fantastic teams at The Montague on the Gardens and The Chesterfield Mayfair. Their hard work and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences is what keeps our guests coming back time and time again, and it is wonderful that this dedication has been acknowledged at the Hotel Cateys.”
