Red Lion Hotels Corporation announced its head of franchise development, Ron Burgett, has accepted an offer to become Executive Vice President of Franchise Development with Value Place, the nation’s largest extended stay brand. His last day with Red Lion will be January 31.
“We are pleased that a member of our senior management team has such a great opportunity,” said Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Evans. “Value Place and its founder Jack DeBoer, have a tremendous reputation for developing successful extended stay lodging products. Ron has been a key member of our team and we thank him for all of his efforts to expand the Red Lion brands.”
Burgett joined Red Lion in July 2012. In 2013, the company’s Lodging Development team successfully increased the franchise portfolio to 30 locations, including expanding into Arizona.
“Red Lion has a strong lodging development and management team and an active pipeline. We are committed to our franchise growth strategy and the goal of 20 new franchise locations in 2014. We will begin the search process for Ron’s replacement right away,” said Evans. “Earlier this week, we announced that Greg Mount has been appointed by the Board of Directors as our new President and CEO. Greg has years of franchise development experience with some of the largest hotel brands in the country. Red Lion is an attractive opportunity for an industry leader in development and we look forward to adding new talent to our strong team.”
