A ‘red, white and blue Monday’ as hundreds secure America summer camp placements

CL-Jobs-Fair-2014-300x215Hundreds of young people from across the UK are celebrating a red, white and blue Monday after securing placements at America summer camps.

While some are deeming January 20th as ‘Blue Monday’, Camp Leaders – the UK’s specialist provider of summer placements in USA – has given hundreds of people reason to celebrate by securing them jobs in camps across America.
Camp Leaders held jobs fairs in Manchester, London and Edinburgh over the weekend, reaching their highest placement numbers in the organisation’s history. Since September 2013, more than 15,000 people have applied for summer programme with Camp Leaders. In 2013 alone, the organisation sent more than 6,000 people from across the world to US summer camps, achieving a 99.3 per cent rate of placements to people who applied.
Participants have secured summer jobs in a number of American states, from Connecticut to California and Massachusetts to Minnesota.
Chris Coventry, Marketing and Promotions Manager at Camp Leaders, said: “This has been our best year yet with hundreds of participants already waiting in line by 7am for our jobs fairs with some even staying up overnight to be first in line.
“The feedback has been fantastic with people recruited for camp positions in areas such as sports, performing arts, outdoor activities and special needs. Directors from more than 35 camps attended the fairs, demonstrating that they view the UK as a great place to recruit hard-working and dedicated candidates.
“There is a lot of negative news about young adults these days and stark unemployment figures, but we were delighted to meet so many ambitious and talented individual from across the UK.
“This academic year alone we have received more than 15,000 applications to Camp Leaders, placing more people than ever, and there is still time to apply.”
Chris added: “These summer camps give our participants a whole new outlook on life – they have an amazing time, experience a new culture, make friends for life and in many situations can make a positive impact on the lives of the people they are working with.
“We work with each individual to analyse their skills and provide them with a bespoke placement. Throughout the application and travel process we support and guide each person so that they are safe, comfortable, confident and excited about their placement.”
