DSA-WizzAir-Old_Riga (1)Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield recently teamed up with Wizz Air and Capital FM to highlight the new flights from South Yorkshire to the Latvian capital of Riga.

Capital FM drive time presenter Adam O’Neill visited Riga to showcase the city and created the below video about the beautiful sights of the European Capital of Culture for 2014.

The radio station also ran a competition where a listener won a two-night stay for two people in Riga with breakfast and £500 travel money included.

Riga is fast becoming a popular destination for weekend breaks and also holds the esteemed status of being a Unesco World Heritage Site.
The route between Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Riga is the only new UK flight to the Wizz Air base in Latvia. Twice weekly flights from the Yorkshire airport began in June and have been a huge success.

Wizz Air is now set to expand the route to three-times weekly from April 2015.
Doncaster Sheffield Airport is firmly established as Wizz Air’s second largest UK base,  operating a total of 24 flights per week to eight destinations, including Bucharest in Romania and Gdansk, Warsaw, Katowice, Poznan and Wroclaw in Poland.
