Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island has received ConventionSouth’s ‘Top New or Renovated Meeting Site’ award and will be featured in the December issue of the magazine. Earlier this year, the resort officially completed a $30M renovation, including 22,500 square feet of all-new meeting and event space, and represents the only all-new resort to open at Hilton Head Island this year. ConventionSouth magazine, based in Gulf Shores, AL, is distributed to more than 18,000 meeting professionals throughout the country.

Indoor and outdoor function space is available at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island, and includes its 10,000-square-foot Santee Ballroom, 7,000-square-foot Oceanfront Pavilion and 2,500-square-foot Savannah Ballroom. A portion of the Oceanside Pavilion includes glass panels and built-in space heaters to allow for year-round events, and additional outdoor terrace space is also available to accommodate group functions. Collectively, the resort’s function space can accommodate groups from eight to 800 individuals.
ConventionSouth recognizes 50 meeting facilities across the South annually with this distinction.
Earlier this year, Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island received the “Best of the South” distinction by Meetings Focus, a trade magazine dedicated to covering the meeting and convention industry. The resort was one of three South Carolina properties to receive the “Best of the South” distinction.
Also, The Island Packet’s 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards named the resort “Best Hotel” on the island and it continues to be the #1 resort for the area on TripAdvisor.
