Robert Desvaux appointed as head of Mauritius Tourism Authority

RobertDexThe Mauritius Council of Ministers endorsed on Friday the appointment of Robert Desvaux as the head of the “Mauritius Tourism Authority,” the regulatory body of the Mauritian tourism industry.

Mr. Desvaux had the position as President of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority from September 2005 to February 2013 (for 7 years, 6 months).

According to his Facebook page, he was recently the Managing Director at AEL DDS Petroleum Logistics.

Passionate about the tourism industry and known for his dynamism, vision and ability to work, Robert Desvaux brought the tourism industry to its current positive position.

Last February, Tourism Minister Sik Yuen had indeed ended his contract as head of the MTPA. Now a new Minister of Tourism re-appointed Robert Desvaux.

Mr. Desvaux now states on his Facebook and LinkedIn pages:
“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the government led by Sir Jugnauth Aneerood especially the DPM and Minister of Tourism and External Communications, Xavier Luc Duval, in having chosen [me] to chair the Board of Directors of the Mauritius Tourism Authority.

“Once again, the opportunity given to me is to serve the tourism industry in my country. There is a big project ahead of us, and I am looking forward to fulfill[ing] my obligation with passion and dedication that have always guided my actions.

“Together we can revitalize and reinvent the Mauritian tourism industry. I would listen to all those who have become the heart of this industry, and I am open to any suggestions that will help improve the services of the Mauritius Tourism Authority and the Mauritian tourism product in general.
