Ryanair launches 5 new East Midlands routes

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, has launched its East Midlands summer 2013 schedule, including 5 new routes to Girona, Marseille, Menorca, Poznan and Zadar from April (40 routes in total), which will help deliver over 2.3m passengers p.a. and support over 2,300* “on-site” jobs.

Ryanair will grow in summer 2013 at East Midlands to:
• 40 routes (up 5%)
• 5 new routes to Girona, Marseille, Menorca, Poznan and Zadar
• 326 weekly flights
• 2.3m pax p.a. (up 35%)
• 2,300 jobs at East Midlands Airport

In East Midlands, Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:

“Ryanair is pleased to announce its summer 2013 schedule for East Midlands, with 5 new routes to/from Girona, Marseille, Menorca, Poznan and Zadar, which will help deliver over 2.3m pax p.a. and sustain over 2,300* “on-site” jobs at East Midlands Airport, underlining Ryanair’s commitment to tourism in the region.”

* ACI research confirms up to 1,000 ‘on-site’ jobs are sustained at international airports for every 1m passengers.
