Scot-Rail1And after close-up inspection of video footage, representatives from Guinness World Records have officially awarded us the title for the world’s Longest Chain of Roller Skaters!

One skater who was only too keen to take part was Melissa Tennant from Glasgow.

The 22 year old’s twin sister Nicole passed away earlier this year, and since then Melissa has been busy ticking off activities on her sibling’s ‘bucket list’ – one of which was to achieve a world record.

Speaking about her achievement, Melissa said: “Making it into the Guinness Book of World Records for something as fun as roller skating is brilliant for me and means that I am one step closer to completing Nicole’s wish list.”

ScotRail’s successful world record attempt was carried out in partnership with Clyde 1 and was hosted by DJ Knoxy.
