Severe disruption on the West Coast Mainline

Published on : Thursday, February 13, 2014

network-railDue to the extreme weather conditions there is severe disruption on the West Coast Main Line.

Trains are currently running from Euston station to Birmingham and Wolverhampton but with delays, cancellations and alterations.

Due to fallen trees, damaged signalling and equipment there are no services north of Nuneaton to Manchester, Preston, Crewe, Liverpool or Glasgow

In addition the line between Preston and Penrith will close today between 19.00 to 21.00 due to predicted wind speeds of more than 90mph – the majority of services on this line do not use this stretch of track.

Our engineers are working round the clock to keep the railway running. As the weather sweeps across the country there is likely to be further impact on services.
