The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) plans to brief the San Francisco International Airport Commission on new procedures and new technologies aimed at improving on-time performance at SFO. The meeting is open to the public and media are welcome to attend.
Due to a combination of runway configuration and weather, SFO is uniquely susceptible to flight delays. Working with the FAA and airlines, SFO has already implemented a series of initiatives to improve on-time performance. In 2015, SFO posted its best on-time arrival rate since 2004, during a period of record passenger volumes. These new procedures and technologies promise further significant improvement.
