Sixteen people have been killed in the strongest typhoon that hit South China after four decades. The typhoon is the same that tore through the Philippines affecting thousands.
Super Typhoon Rammasun affected dozens of south coastal cities in the Guangdong and Hainan province and parts of Guangxi upsetting the lives of more than 3 million.
Plane, train and road services had to be suspended. 1,300 passengers were left stranded in the Nanning airport, capital of Guangx. Landfall in different areas completely disrupted all road communication.
The typhoon has struck the Philippines earlier this week casing a great deal of damage as it killed 94 people according to the country’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. People died after being hit by falling trees, collapsed structures and landslide.
The storm grew in strength from category 1 storm to category 5 as it made its way from Philippine to China.
