download-610SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has tripled the number of self-service kiosks available to customers traveling from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. Passengers can now use one of 90 SkyTeam-branded, common-use kiosks to check in, offering an even more convenient airport experience. Kiosks are prominently positioned in the lobby area and throughout piers A-F at the airport’s Terminal 1 North.
Until recently, member airlines operated self-service kiosks dedicated to their own check-in area at Narita with approximately 30 available to SkyTeam customers in common areas of the lobby. The new SkyTeam self-service kiosks are now available to customers traveling on Air France, Aeroméxico, Alitalia, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air and KLM with a wide range of languages to choose from.
SkyTeam’s new kiosks are the latest development in the alliance’s SkyPort initiative that has been developed to realize synergies for members, while delivering an enhanced airport experience for customers. Earlier this year, SkyTeam opened a dedicated SkyPriority fast-track security lane at Narita for Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers to help them travel even faster through the airport.
“Tokyo Narita is an important airport for SkyTeam: we have thousands of passengers flying on our services each day and customer feedback has been extremely positive,” said Tae Joon Kim, SkyTeam’s vice president Airport Services. “Our investment in technology is improving the services we offer at Narita by saving customers valuable time that they can put to better use before they fly.”
The new self-service kiosks have decreased full-service check-in queues and lobby congestion and these benefits are expected to increase as more SkyTeam members move to include their check-in applications on the SkyTeam kiosks at Narita in the near future.
SkyTeam members have more than 1,000 weekly flights from Japan linking the country to cities in Europe, North and Central America, Asia and Greater China. SkyTeam members serving Tokyo Narita are: Aeroflot, Aero México, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines. SkyTeam members currently located at Terminal 2 are: China Airlines and China Eastern.
