Throughout the last month, it has been reported that employees of Southampton Airport have been experiencing significantly warmer top lips. Gents across the airport have been cultivating moustaches for the world-wide phenomenon that is Movember – having fun while raising money for the serious issue of men’s health; specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.
Female staff and follicly challenged chaps have also been joining in the fundraising fun by sporting fake moustaches. Even passengers have been getting involved by voting for their favourite Southampton Airport moustache on Facebook and posing for photos, showcasing their own moustaches.
Jan Halliday, Southampton Airport’s Director of Marketing and Communications said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many people participating in Movember and everyone has been watching the progress each day. It’s a great cause and it has amazed us how generous everyone has been.”
This Saturday, the final day of Movember, members of the security team will be dying their moustaches in a range of weird and wonderful colours, in a final drive to add to the hundreds of pounds already raised.
