HAM_291_aspect4x51-239x300This year it’s all about mind over matter. Wellness Tourism Worldwide recently released the Top 10 Wellness Trends of 2014, which highlights “mindful vacations that offer mental restoration.” Travellers coming from near and far want a way to improve health, increase productivity, and find happiness. An urban sanctuary located in the hip Harbor East neighbourhood, The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore is quickly becoming a place for transformation with its new series of ancient techniques and treatments that guests can enjoy individually or as part of a multi-part energy healing journey.

The International Spa Association defines spas as “places devoted to overall well-being through a variety of professional services that encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit.” It’s with this in mind that the Spa decided to take a more holistic approach to the menu, offering a new line of treatments dedicated to healing and rejuvenation, which can lift the spirit and create a greater sense of emotional well-being. Spa guests will be inspired not only by the nurturing touch of therapists trained in such Eastern disciplines as Reiki and reflexology, but will also leave feeling more at peace – with less stress and improved mental clarity. On an even deeper level, Spa enthusiasts can experience the wonder of reconnective healing – a non-touch, energetic healing session where expert therapists access the fullness of the universe to provide powerful healing frequencies that may be felt on a variety of levels from physical to mental, emotional and spiritual.

As an added dose of spiritual nourishment and enlightenment, the Spa will host complimentary seminars on the fourth Tuesday of the month focused around mind, body, and spirit. A relaxing and inspiring way to end the day, topics discussed at the evening workshops will include: Herbaology, Chakra Balancing, Cupping, Reconnective Healing, Himalaya Salt Stone Massage, Reiki, Ashiatsu, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Meditation, Nutrition, Midwifery, Shamanic and Intuitive Healing.

To complete the journey to wellness, the Spa has hired a certified Herbalist to provide guests with consultations and herbal remedies to complement their overall health care regimen. Plants, herbs and other natural substances have been used for thousands of years in Eastern civilizations and have recently become popular in the West where they are considered a great supplement (and in some cases alternative) to modern medicine for treating and prevent illness and maximizing health potential.
