Stay on a Bristol rooftop in a Vintage Airstream Caravan

Published on : Sunday, February 3, 2013

A boutique guesthouse in Bristol has been granted planning approval to create an innovative trailer park on its roof top. Brooks Guesthouse, which opened in April 2011 and is located in the heart of the popular St Nicholas Market, will place four vintage airstream caravan parks on its flat roof in autumn 2013 offering guests a unique overnight experience in the city centre.

The caravans will be imported from America and will be customised by local artists and cabinet makers in Bristol to create a quirky interest to the city skyscape.

The 23-bed stylish guesthouse has become an established hospitality business in the Old City, attracting corporate and leisure guests throughout the week.

Co-owner Carla Brooks says: “The new caravans can be rented for £99 per night bed and breakfast, and each one will be luxuriously kitted out with Hans Grohe power showers, heated towel rails, demister mirrors, electric shaver points, White Company toiletries, and large comfortable beds.

“The caravans will really sum up the spirit of the area, which is slightly alternative and bursting with character. There is no other hotel in the UK offering this unusual accommodation option, so it will be completely unique to Bristol.”

The roof garden will be designed by local landscape gardener, Steve Kelvin, who designed the Spanish-style courtyard garden at Brooks Guesthouse, and it will provide guests with a beautiful space in which to enjoy the vibrant city of Bristol.

Prices are £99.00 for a double including breakfast.
