Storm threat looms over US holiday travel plans

us-storm (1)Heavy storm already blamed for the death of 8 people poses as a threat for travelers looking for a respite during the Thanksgiving. Till now hundreds of flights have been cancelled owing to the storm. Even Mexico bore the brunt of the storm with Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport cancelling around 300 flights.
“This is more of a January, February-type weather event,” National Weather Service meteorologist Dennis Cain told the Los Angeles Times, adding, “It’s not rare, but it’s not very common either.”
According to reports, more than 43 million Americans expected are expected to travel during Thanksgiving. Meteorologists predict that the storm could put water to holiday travel plans.
