Thailand promotes new regions at the OTM Platform

TAT 2The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Mumbai Office hosted a high tea for the travel trade fraternity showcasing the new regions and provinces which will be promoted as part of the “2015 Discover Thainess Campaign”.

The destination training presentation highlighted various new locations such as Trat, Rayong, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin, Cha Am, Ko Phangan and Chumphon, among others.

Ms. Soraya Homcheun, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai Office said “We have created new and special routes for these destinations focusing on family vacations, catering to their needs of entertainment for both children and parents. There are several new attractions and theme parks which have recently opened in Thailand to make your family’s vacation even more memorable and enjoyable”.

The new routes illustrate Thailand’s versatile landscape and myriad experiences and attractions.

Mr. Amnuay Tiamkeerakul Executive Director, ASEAN, South Asia and South Pacific Region Department was also present for the High Tea session. He urged the Indian travelers to experience these new routes and encouraged the trade fraternity to promote these new locations to their end consumer. He said “I hope these new regions attract and interest the audiences, as we see India as an important key market for us and have always tried to offer more and more products to our traveler and offer them an exciting and unforgettable experience like no other”.

A special Pattaya Product presentation was also presented during the session highlighting important new developments in the region along with several new attractions and activities which have been launched in Pattaya making it a fun and exciting place to visit with family and friends.

Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya office who made the presentation and has previously worked as Assistant Director in the Mumbai office said, “With my past experience of the Indian market, I have tried to bring products and attractions which would appeal to all segments like FIT, families, honeymooners etc”.
There is an entire entourage of Thai suppliers who have participated in OTM to showcase their various products to the travel trade and consumers alike.  Hotels like Centara Hotels & Resorts, Fisherman Harbour Luxury Hotel and Spa, Novotel Phuket Vintage Park Resort, Bella Villa Group Pattaya etc and many more are present along with other DMCS and entertainment companies like Cartoon Network Amazone, Nongnooch Village Co, Ltd., Elatrip [Thailand] Co., Ltd., Asian Trails Ltd. Etc.,

TAT also had the support of Thai Airways & Bangkok Airways at the event. Travellers can count on both airlines to make a trip to Thailand memorable right from its start.
Thailand Tourism has also recently appointed Mary Kom as the brand ambassador for Muay Thai, which is being extensively promoted in India as a family or group activity. Travellers can enroll in Muay Thai Camps of varying durations from one-day training sessions to monthly courses depending on the interest level of the person. Thai boxing is extremely popular in India and globally, both as a method of self-defense and as an exciting way to stay fit.

TAT is initiating many unique activities and projects this year focusing on promoting luxury and experiential experiences in the Indian market.
