The Holy Family Children’s Home is the recipient of this year’s “Cruise To Run” donation.  The  Home received a quantity  of school supplies from the Canadian based In-stride Productions who successfully staged the 6th annual ‘Cruise To Run’ event in Saint Lucia last week.

According to Special Events Co-ordinator at the Saint Lucia Tourist Board Hale Harvey, the team has in the past donated shoes to various sports clubs but this time around has selected the under privileged children’s home.

“Each year the team brings with them goodies for a particular charity. This year we are going to be passing on those goodies to the Holy Family Children’s Home. And we are going to meet with them to pass it on,  on behalf of the runners.”

In-stride Productions makes it a duty to give back to every island that the runners visit around the Caribbean. One of the participants describes her delight in being able to give back to Saint Lucia.

“We love it.    It is one of the ways that we give back to every island that we travel to, so not only do we take in the scenery and beauty but we are able to give back in some possible way”

Minister for Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries Honourable  Lorne Theophilus who officially welcomed the runners says he looks forward to hosting this event next year and intends on making it bigger and better so that the rewards can be even greater for Saint Lucia

“Apart from the run they also participate in philanthropic events as well. So they assist in charity and many other things. Something we seek to encourage because it does good things to our country”.
