Innovative ‘quiz night’ style training sessions have been run for the first time in Germany, hosted by Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) and Air New Zealand.
Targeting travel agents and product managers, these interactive training sessions were held in unconventional venues in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich in October. Each session was popular, with 135 agents participating in total.
‘We’re always looking for fun and different ways to engage with travel sellers in market – ensuring we maximise attendance while also making information memorable,’ says Danielle Genty-Nott, Tourism New Zealand’s Regional Manager – UK and Europe.
Five quiz rounds, based on five videos produced by Air New Zealand for their ‘Ask a German Kiwi’ campaign, covered New Zealand culture, city life, food and wine, nature and Air New Zealand products.
Participants also got to sample classic New Zealand cuisine, including the quintessential Kiwi favourite ‘fish’n’chips’, along with some of New Zealand’s best wines.
The strong attendance added to the fun atmosphere at each event, with positive feedback including: “the quiz was a fun way to exchange knowledge with others at our table and to learn more about New Zealand” and “the perfect concept – fun and educational”.
The latest session follows a similarly successful quiz night in Denmark and the Netherlands last June, run alongside Tourism Australia and Emirates. You can read more about Tourism New Zealand’s marketing activity in Germany here.
