Dine-Out-Vancouver-FestivalWhy eat at one street food cart when you can load up at 15? Starting on Wednesday, Street Food City – one of Dine Out Vancouver Festival’s signature events – returns for its hat trick year, tempting the masses with a rotating array of nearly two dozen food carts and trucks.

Presented by Tourism Vancouver, Street Food Vancouver Society and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, Street Food City III rolls out its pop-up lunchtime pod at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza for five blissful days of al fresco feasting. During the event’s first year, nine food trucks took part – and now that number has risen to 23, which will be on constant rotation so at least 15 will be on site each day of the event.

Word on the street is the food truck chefs have cooked up special Dine Out dishes to pair with their tried-and-true favourites, and will dole out diverse and exotic dishes that range from Australian pies and East Indian kebabs to gourmet grilled cheese and good-for-you smoothies. Diners can then adjourn to outdoor tents decked out with heaters, tables and chairs (and portable bathrooms!) and eat a meal or three while kicking back, making friends and listening to music. Lunch date, anyone?
