fo_ship_overview_black_watc_MediumFred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering guests something completely new and different in 2014…its first-ever ‘Mystery Cruise’! Departing from Tilbury on 15th November 2014 for 14 nights – on Fred. Olsen’s inaugural turnaround call at this Essex port – the mystery is where in the world Black Watch will take you?

Whilst Fred. Olsen is keeping the itinerary of this ‘cruise to who knows where’ tightly under wraps, here is a tantalising festive ‘Twelve Days of Mystery’ countdown of some of the highlights that guests can expect:

TWELVE delicious cocktails
ELEVEN months until departure
TEN UNESCO World Heritage Sites to visit
NINE actors in a ‘Murder Mystery’ Dinner
EIGHT days in port
SEVEN ports of call
SIX production shows
FIVE-course a la carte dinners a-plenty
FOUR exciting countries
THREE Formal Nights
TWO Captain’s Receptions
ONE capital city
Martin Lister, Itinerary Planning Manager for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“We have had great fun putting this intriguing Fred. Olsen ‘Mystery Cruise’ together. As with all Fred. Olsen sailings, the itinerary is specifically planned to be the highlight of your holiday, although unlike other cruises, only two people in the whole of the Company know the details…and I am one of them!

“Other highlights of this ‘cruise with a difference’ include an overnight stay in the region’s top port of call, as rated by our guests, and one late evening sailing…but that is all that I am letting on!”

Guests will experience the usual warm Fred. Olsen welcome on Black Watch, but unusually, the itinerary will remain truly a ‘mystery’ to most people on board.

Writer and broadcaster Mei Trow – known for his formidable reputation as a scholar ‘who peels away legend to reveal the truth’ – will also be joining this unique cruise. His recent TV work includes ‘Ancient Discoveries’ for History Channel and ‘The Black Museum with Nick Ross’ for the Crime Channel, and he will be to giving talks to guests on ‘The Mysteries of the Sea’, taking a light-hearted, and sometimes serious, look ‘behind the scenes’ at the world of writing and publishing.

Wherever Black Watch’s ‘Mystery Cruise’ takes you, Fred. Olsen guests can rest assured that they will have a most marvellous and memorable holiday every step of the way!

Fred. Olsen was delighted to be voted ‘Best Affordable Cruise Line’ and runner-up ‘Best Cruise Line’ in the ‘Cruise International Awards 2013’, and ‘Best Value Cruise Line’ in the ‘2013 Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards’.
