The-Port-Authority-of-New-York-and-New-JerseyThe Port Authority of New York and New Jersey closed two upper-level westbound lanes of the George Washington Bridge this morning to make emergency repairs to a section of the upper-level deck. Bridge officials expect the lanes to remain closed until approximately 2:00 p.m. The lane closures will affect New Jersey-bound commuters, but will not impact commuters traveling from New Jersey to New York.

Motorists traveling westbound to New Jersey should consider alternate routes such as the Lincoln or Holland tunnels, or use the lower level of the George Washington Bridge, as there could be significant delays.
