Wizz-AirWizz Air announced new routes from Larnaca (Cyprus) from April 2014. The new routes, which are part of a long term development plan for the destination Cyprus and of which already a route to Donetsk has been announced earlier, will be operated on one of the airline’s new Airbus A320 aircraft from the 2014 summer schedule.
With the addition of the new routes, Wizz Air’s route network in Larnaca will now grow to a total of 6 routes to 5 different countries. Capacity in the first 12 months of operating the new routes will grow to a total of 250,000 seats. The airline believes this will stimulate the local job market in aviation and tourism sectors as consumers will have access to more low cost routes. Seats on the new Larnaca routes are already on sale from just EUR 24.99 and can be booked on wizzair.com.
Wizz Air’s Daniel de Carvalho said: “At Wizz Air we are committed to delivering low fares on routes that are attractive for our customers. This commitment is today underlined by the launch of 2 new exciting routes connecting Cyprus with Serbia and Ukraine. We look forward to carrying many Cypriots to the historic cities of Kiev and Belgrade as well as to Donetsk, while Serbian and Ukraine travelers can visit beautiful Cyprus on our very low fares. With fares starting from only EUR 24.99 and two weekly flights on both new routes, it is very convenient to book a long weekend away on wizzair.com.”
Commenting on Wizz Air’s new routes, Hermes Chief Executive Officer, Wes Porter said: “We welcome the decision of the airline to grow its presence in Cyprus, a development that will contribute to the economic welfare of the island. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation and further growth in the years to come.”
