World No.1 Triumphs In Qatar Airways Sponsored Exxonmobil Tennis Tournament

qatar-airways-logoRetaining his top ranking, Rafael Nadal made a winning start to the New Year by successfully taking the top spot at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2014 championship last night after a three-set final against France’s Gael Monfils.

The World Number 1 men’s tennis player won 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-2 in one hour 59 minutes taking the coveted Doha title in front of a packed crowd at the Khalifa International Tennis
and Squash Complex.

Qatar Airways, the Official Airline of the six-day event, has been a strong supporter of the tournament over the years.

The airline and its subsidiary Qatar Duty Free (QDF), bronze sponsor of the tournament
had a presence at the public village with dedicated pavilions.

“Qatar Airways is very proud to have offered tennis fans truly world-class action from some of the most exceptional tennis players. Our congratulations go out to Nadal for winning this prestigious title in Doha for the first time,” said the airline’s Vice President Commercial Qatar Ehab Amin.

Over the next few weeks and months, the network will grow further with Sharjah and Dubai World Central, both in the UAE (March 1, 2014), Larnaca, Cyprus (April 29, 2014), Philadelphia, USA (April 2, 2014), Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Turkey (May 22, 2014), Edinburgh, Scotland (May 28, 2014), Miami, USA (June 10, 2014) and Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (July 1, 2014).
