Phu Yen tourism sector has just been developed; therefore, it’s necessary to build tourism environment safe, civilized and hospitable for visitors.
Mr. Ho Van Tien, Director of Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism let known, although Phu Yen tourism does not have negative-phenomena, there are still some drawbacks; for instance, several travel-business establishments paying less attention to environmental sanitation, some historic-sites, scenic-spots, cultural-facilities in the plan of tourism-development at risk of degrading, polluted natural-environment, the situation of beggars and hawkers unsettling, clinging to tourists in some places does still exist; the order-security task in some places is not guaranteed …
To implement the Prime Minister’s directive, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee issued Directive No. 19 on strengthening the management of tourism-environment, ensuring security and safety for tourists in the province in the phase of 2013-2015. At the conference of thoroughly grasping the directive of the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee on the above content, tourism-trading businesses in the province reflected and made lots of proposals to build up the local-tourism environment. At the destination of Dia reef, Mr. Pham Luong Don, Director of Thuan Thao Travelling Center commented: the Road to Dia reef is very dangerous for aged and children travelers, but there are few signs, signposts to attract travellers’ attention. Mrs. Vo Thi Hiec, Head of Phu Dong Club in Ward 7 and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Sakura restaurant’s owner in Ward 6 (Tuy Hoa city) proposed: the local and functional departments need to regularly check streetlight system, build more clean and airy sidewalks. The travelling businesses are willing to invest money to construct sidewalks, install streetlights on the roads near the business-venue to meet the standards set by the State to contribute to the urban landscape.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee cum Head of the Steering Committee for tourism-development in Phu Yen province, Mr. Tran Quang Nhat appreciated the comments from businesses, and requested authorities and locals to facilitate, guide enterprises in cleaning up the environment near the business operating venues. “Localities and functional agencies in the province need to cooperate more closely in order to further strengthen managing tourism environment, assuring security and safety for tourists, aiming to build Phu Yen into an attractive and friendly destination. Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism takes the main responsibility, help the PPC to closely and timely monitor to direct in this aspect. Departments, sectors, localities with their functions and responsibilitied include the contents of building, protecting travel-environment in safety, health and civilization as to the plan and political mission”, the Vice Chairman directed.
