Following the announcement of a new flight between Bristol and Shannon earlier this month (4 December), Aer Lingus Regional has added capacity on its popular Cork route.
From April 2014 an additional four flights a week will be added to the schedule, enabling the airline to operate a double daily service on Monday and Saturday. This represents a 27% increase in seats available between South West England and Ireland’s second largest city.
Extra capacity on the Cork route boosts already good connections between Bristol and South West Ireland. A daily flight to Shannon will also commence in April and is expected to carry 25,000 passengers in its first year of operation.
The Aer Lingus Regional services from Bristol Airport, which include up to three daily flights to Dublin, are operated by Aer Arann. As well as strengthening business links between Bristol and Ireland, the three destinations are also popular with leisure travellers. Proximity to Bath, Exeter,Cardiff, Newport and Gloucester also makes Bristol Airport an attractive option for Irish rugby fans following their teams to away fixtures.
