Outbound US tourists totaled 6.4 million travellers for the month of November and 42.6 million year to date (YTD).Travel to Mexico was up by 16 Per cent in August

U.S. travel to overseas markets (1) totalled 2.6 million, up three per cent in August and one per cent for the year (20.2 million). Regional results were as follows:
a)Europe, 1.2 million travellers, up three per cent
b)Caribbean, 569,000 travellers, up four per cent
c)Asia, 325,000 travellers, up two per cent
d)Central America, 194,000 travellers, up four per cent
e)South America, 148,000 travellers, up four per cent
f)Middle East, 137,000 travellers, up seven per cent
g)Oceania, 39,000 travellers, no growth
h)Africa, 33,000 travellers, down one per cent
i)U.S. travel to other North American markets totalled 3.8 million and was up 10 per cent compared to August 2012. Travel to Canada and Mexico for the year (22.5 million) was up one per cent.
Mexico enjoyed a a 32 per cent share of US outbound travel; and Canada a 20 percent share. Mexico accounted for 1.8 million travellers, up 16 per cent due to a surge in border (1+ night) travel. Air travel (464,000) was up 13 per cent
Canada, 1.9 million travellers, up four per cent; air travel (471,000) up eight per cent in
August 2013 YTD Market Share.
U.S. travel to overseas locations accounted for 47 per cent of U.S. outbound international travel.
Europe, a 19 per cent share;
Caribbean, an 11 per cent share;
Asia, a seven per cent share;
Central America, a four per cent share;
South America, a three per cent share;
Middle East, a three per cent share;
Oceania, a one per cent share, and
Africa, a one per cent share
North American markets received 53 per cent of all U.S. international outbound travel.
