Three leading Mexican hotel chains have expressed interest in investing in Peru at the recently held inPeru roadshow throughout the Pacific Alliance’s member nations, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has announced.
Minister Magali Silva said the first international hotel brand will focus on entrepreneurs who look for quick and quality attention; while a seven-star hotel is planning to enter the Peruvian market aimed at travelers of the highest income class.
The third hotel chain, she said, will be directed to nature lovers and adventure seekers. “We are already working with the Mexican Tourism Ministry for reaching concrete results in 2014,” Silva noted.
She stressed that Peru’s hotel infrastructure has been steadily developing this year, but continued work is required for meeting the demand of the growing tourism sector which would have increased by 12 per cent.
“The Peruvian tourism sector is expected to continue to grow next year by reaching the target of attracting four million visitors,” Silva told TV Peru.
She said that the expansion and improvement of regional airports, in particular in northern Peru, will allow a better interconnection with various international destinations, greatly benefiting tourism sector.
