Published on : Friday, December 6, 2013

network-rail2Richard Schofield, route managing director, Network Rail, said: “Fallen trees, debris and over-head line issues from today’s storm have impacted the railway in the region and we’d like to thank passengers for their patience. “While we have hundreds of engineers working to clear and recover the route, preparation is also underway for the storm surge expected to hit East Anglia tonight and into the early hours of Friday morning. “We’re currently monitoring the situation, and working closely with our train operating partners, have devised an amended service plan for the region for this evening, with the safety of passengers in mind.”Passengers are advised to check with National Rail Enquiries and the train operators websites for further details. “We’re hopeful to run as normal a service as possible tomorrow morning, however some disruption is to be expected as we assess rail conditions following the severe weather. Speed restrictions maybe also be in place in coastal areas, with the first morning services subject to these restrictions and additional stops.” Source:-Network Rail
