Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air, the official carrier of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS), today begins its 3-day countdown to BIAS 2014 which commences on Thursday 16th January at the Sakhir Airbase.
“Gulf Air is proud to, once again, be the official carrier of the event,” commented Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Maher Salman AlMusallam.
“As the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a key national infrastructure asset and an integral part of the local economy it is natural for us to be involved in this significant, bi-annual event that not only adds great value to the growing prominence of the Kingdom’s aviation sector in the international arena but also opens up vast business opportunities for the aerospace industry.”
As the official carrier of BIAS 2014 Gulf Air will have a dedicated exhibition stand and chalet at the event. The opening day will see the national carrier showcasing its distinctive Gulf Air A330 flying display in addition to a static aircraft display of the Gulf Air A320 ER (extended range aircraft) and various announcements throughout the three days.
Returning to the Kingdom on 16-18 January, BIAS 2014 is organized under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
A number of multinational companies are participating in the event including ADS Group, Airbus, BAE Systems, The Boeing Company, Farnborough International Ltd, GE, Lockheed Martin, Lufthansa Technik and Sikorsky / Pratt & Whitney.
