Published on : Saturday, January 18, 2014

‘Omaha-Challenge’Everyone in the sports world has been talking about Omaha, Nebraska this week, after the word “Omaha” was used as an audible call 44 times during last weekend’s playoff game. While the meaning of the call remains a mystery, the city of Omaha has garnered significant national attention, including a 21 percent increase in hotel searches according to Hotels.com (January 12-13 compared to January 5-6).

To further spotlight Omaha as a travel destination, Hotels.com today announces the Omaha Challenge. The challenge is to beat last weekend’s performance by using the audible “Omaha” call 50 times during this Sunday’s game. Should there be 50 calls or more, Hotels.com will offer travelers a rare 15% discount coupon* for a stay at any Omaha hotel through June 1, 2014.

“Omaha may be best known as the center stage of college baseball, but Nebraska’s largest city also has a rich music history, a plethora of art galleries in the historic downtown, and family attractions such as a children’s museum and the renowned Henry Doorly Zoo,” said Taylor L. Cole, APR, travel expert for Hotels.com. “It will have everyone making the Omaha call!”
