Lufthansa-in-Birmingham (1)The airlines Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Germanwings have suspended their flights to Tel Aviv because of the uncertain situation at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv for the next 36 hours.

Because of the uncertain situation at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, the Lufthansa Group decided that flights of its airlines from and to Tel Aviv will be suspended for the next 36 hours.

This applies to all flights by Lufthansa, Germanwings, Austrian Airlines and Swiss for the given time frame.

This decision was made based on the criteria that the safety of passengers and crews of all airlines has highest priority even though no sharply increased travel warnings from the responsible officials were issued.

Passengers that were booked on one of the cancelled flights can re-book at no cost or have the ticket price reimbursed.

The situation will be continually followed in cooperation with the responsible officials. We will keep our customers, employees and the public informed as the situation evolves.

Depending on the weekday the airlines of the Lufthansa Group operate in total between seven and ten scheduled flights daily to Tel Aviv from Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Cologne and Vienna.
