Reunion Island’s Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival

20140806-2328_m-200x300The Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival (IDF) is the creation this year’s Reunion Island “Breizh Kabar” Festival. From August 1-10, 2014, the culture and traditions of Reunion Island will punctuate the days and nights.

The Breizh Kabar Festival, which took place from October 26 to November 3, 2013, brought together two territories: Reunion Island and Brittany. This event was an opportunity to create a unique moment of sharing a kind and a way to honor the Fest Noz and Maloya, both listed as an Intangible Heritage by UNESCO.

In 2014, the tour continues with Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival, which takes place from August 1-10.

 

The culture and traditions of Reunion Island to be featured will include:
• Monday, August 4 – the inauguration of the exhibition Maloya Regional Pole of Contemporary Music (PRMA) at the Grand Theatre;
• Thursday, August 7 – a picnic partner of Breizh Kabar Creating the Taverne du Roi Morvan, followed by an aperitif concert Saodaj;
• Saturday, August 9 – the creation of Breizh Kabar Reunion at the Grand Theatre where several artists will participate in the festival – a show, colorful and miscegenation!
All week, visitors can meet and interact with Reunionese present at the event, and also taste local products at stand 19, Quai de Bretagne.
