The Congress Union Celle is one of four sustainably certified convention centers in the state of Niedersachsen. Sustainability Officer at Congress Union Celle Sascha Hilgendorf, said,” In July 2014 we officially received our Green Globe certification. The Congress Union Celle received a very good result receiving a high score of 81 % of the approved indicators and is willing to improve on this result during the coming years.”
“Important features of our detailed sustainability management plan are reducing consumption, creating sustainable supplier and contractor partnerships and improving staff relations. We are very proud to be managed by the international company Althoff Hotel Collection and appreciate their advanced training management strategies.
“In our food&beverage department we are happy with our regional supplier partnerships and the delivery of fresh, seasonal and local groceries. We hope that our “Green Meeting convention fixed rate” will attract future clients of events to be held at the Congress Union Celle,” added Mr. Hilgendorf.
At the ceremony to present the Green Globe Certificate to the Congress Union Celle, the Mayor of Celle, Dirk Ulrich Mende attended along with representatives from business and tourism organizations to announce this important award to local media.
