une_terminal_ephemere_aux_invalides_630x0-300x113 (1)To keep customers’ stress to a minimum during the busiest weekend of the year at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France is transforming the Invalides air terminal into a temporary check-in hall on 31 July and 1 August – customers will be able to drop off their baggage on the eve of their departure, between 12:00 and 22:00.

This possibility concerns customers booked on all Air France-operated flights on 1st and 2nd August on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle*.

In the Company’s legendary air terminal located at the heart of Paris, Air France hopes to welcome a few thousand customers at one of the 10 check-in desks installed for the occasion.

This innovative service, which is being tested for the very first time, could be renewed, if it proves a success, during the next busy vacation periods.

This operation is inspired by a trial being carried out at Paris-Charles de Gaulle since mid-May 2014; passengers booked on a half-dozen flights to Africa have the option of checking in their baggage on the eve of their departure. Many customers have already benefitted from this service which could be extended to include all African destinations in the autumn.

Over the coming weeks, the Company plans to offer its customers a baggage collection and/or delivery service between the airport and their home address, allowing them not to have to worry about checking in their baggage at the airport on the day of departure or waiting to collect their baggage on arrival.
