Considered as the strongest storm of 2014, super typhoon Vongfong is heading towards Japan while maintaining its volatile intensity with 180 mile per hour estimated sustained winds and gusts.
Satellite estimates from the Japan Meteorological Agency suggest the massive storm’s central pressure dropped to 900 millibars, making it the most intense storm of any kind this year, according to The Weather Channel.
“It’s safe to say Vongfong is the strongest storm on Earth since Haiyan last year,” said Michael Lowry, storm specialist for The Weather Channel.
Although, the massive storm is heading towards Japan it is unlikely that the intensity of Vongfong will remain the same.
The Met department has revealed that the typhoon will weaken considerable while it reaches Japan, thereby diminishing chances of heavy damage.
Japan is still reeling under the effects of Typhoon Phanfone.
Tourists are advised to look for shelters or stay in their hotel rooms and not to travel anywhere without the consent of the state/city authorities.
