iltm-300x106Trailblazing leaders, philosophers and practitioners within luxury and the luxury travel industry today will address the Opening Forum of the 12th edition of International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) when it opens in Cannes on 2 December 2013.

Alison Gilmore, Exhibition Director, ILTM commented:
“Everyone has their own definition of luxury, but its values are universal. ILTM is the hub for global luxury travel decision makers and opinion formers – we are delighted to welcome such inspirational speakers at the Opening Forum of ILTM 2013, each of whom demonstrates our conviction to develop a unique, coherent voice for contemporary luxury travel.”

World renowned customer service and hospitality expert Holly Stiel will begin the proceedings with ‘The Philosophy of Service’. Holly has created a method of hospitality training based on the philosophy that every business can be trained to deliver service at the level of a world-class concierge. Her presentation will emphasise the ‘heart’ and ‘spirit’ of service that considers all touch points in a traveller’s experience, setting the scene for what promises to be a lively ILTM Opening Forum.

Facebook’s new Global Head of Travel Lee McCabe will continue the interactive theme, with a presentation on ‘Social Millennials’ to profile how new technology is putting ‘the wisdom of friends’ back at the centre of travel planning. With the return on investment on social media platforms now unquestionable, Lee will present his views on how the industry can ensure the highest quality – not quantity – of fans and Facebook’s new technology that allows businesses to effectively use the platform as a customer relationship management tool. Lee will also give an overview of Facebook’s current market – exploring who from the luxury travel world is engaging and how, as well as his predictions for growth.

One of the world’s foremost arbiters of style and taste and founder of LuxuryCulture.com, Yaffa Assouline will present ‘Luxury – the New Religion’ addressing the evolution of modern luxury concepts and focusing on creating enduring brands for the luxury travel market. Her presentation will highlight how elite brands can and should develop the most appropriate approach to ensure they stay at the forefront of high-net worth consumers’ minds.

Kjell Nordström is one of the premier management thinkers in Europe. ‘Funky Business’ will urge the audience to think for themselves: his performances are high touch, interactive, thought provoking and always in line with time. His dynamic style makes him a highly appreciated speaker on the social economic environment of right now across the world.

To conclude this inspirational ILTM Opening Forum, the 1000+ expected attendees will have the opportunity to participate in live research, moderated by Michaela Guzy of OTPYM.com. The responses will be assessed in real time and will identify patterns in growth, current challenges and opportunities, bringing live statistics, trends and views from the world’s luxury leaders gathered at the ILTM Opening Forum.

The business of ILTM begins the following day (3 December) in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes and concludes on Thursday 5 December. Just over 1400 luxury travel brands will meet with invited only high-end agents of luxury travel from across the world in a targeted programme of mutually matched one-to-one appointments. A detailed programme of social networking activities will again take place throughout ILTM, enhancing the business opportunities for all participants.
