Australia’s largest network of independent retail travel agencies will meet in Hobart this weekend.
The Minister for Tourism, Scott Bacon said the influx of some 210 conference delegates to the Travellers Choice conference was valuable for promoting Tasmania to more tourists around Australia.
“To further educate these front line retail travel agents on the experiences Tassie has on offer, Tourism Tasmania will be providing a familiarisation program pre and post the conference,” Mr Bacon said.
“Forty of the agents will visit iconic locations around Tasmania such as Cradle Mountain, Devonport, Launceston, Hobart, Port Arthur and Coles Bay.
Mr Bacon said it is really important that these travel sellers experience Tasmania first hand so they can entice many more interstate visitors to our beautiful island.
“This is another example of the effective marketing approach being used by Tourism Tasmania to help boost visitors to the State.
