ATEC’s annual Meeting Place Conference event will take place today at The Star Event Centre in Sydney, attracting more than 350 tourism operators from around Australia and featuring a range of industry leaders and commentators.
Social and economic commentator, Bernard Salt, will provide the opening address helping to identify the key trends and opportunities for the tourism industry over the next few years. NAB Chief Economist, Rob Henderson will also look at the Australian and global economies and panel discussions from leading industry representatives across our emerging sectors provide a fantastic opportunity for tourism businesses to access the latest industry insights.
Media are invited to attend the day, titled Redefining the Visitor: Now and in the Future, which will look at who Australia’s visitor is, why they choose to come and how we compete and engage as a destination.
The conference will be rounded off with an overview of the emerging Brazillian and Russian markets by PATA Regional Director, Chris Flynn plus a closing keynote from the Business Manager of iconic Tasmanian attraction, MONA, Mark Wilsdon and a Gala Dinner at The Star.
