Buy local, get it fresh and eat the best this Christmas; that is the message from Northern Territory Fisheries Minister, Willem Westra van Holthe this festive season.
“Our locally caught and produced seafood is among the best in world and I’m encouraging Territorians to get behind the Support NT Caught campaign and purchase local seafood, which not only tastes great, but also supports Territory jobs,” Mr Westra van Holthe said.
The NT labelling laws are the only kind of their type in Australia so you consumers can be confident they are buying local products and not imported seafood.
“The Territory’s unique seafood labelling laws make it easy for consumers to identify which products have come from NT and Australian waters, giving them the confidence to know that they are purchasing the best possible product for their families and friends this Christmas,”Mr Westra van Holthe said.
“Consumers value quality, fresh local seafood and the Northern Territory seafood industry provides some of the best available.
“So make sure you choose local and enjoy the taste of NT caught seafood this festive season.”
